Verification Engineer
The Business Accelerators Inc. require an experienced verification engineer for ongoing testing activities on several projects we are involved with. The
successful candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment, both in our offices and at client sites. They will be responsible for defining and managing
software verification requirements, performing verification of requirements, creating test cases, performing intra system and system level verification testing.
Close co-operation with hardware and software design/development teams is required. Typically one is expected to also be able to work within the specific technical
processes and procedures of our clients, and work with their Quality Assurance organization to ensure adherence to relevant quality standards and practices. The
successful candidate would also contribute to the collection of quality metrics and process improvement internally within BA and for our client(s).
This position provides an opportunity to contribute to new products through interaction with system architects, hardware and software designers, system integration
engineers, and product managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development (writing) and execution of test plans (integration, system, regression, etc.)
- Creation and follow-up of trouble tickets from the verification process
- Creation of automated test scripts to perform verification tests
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or higher engineering/computer science degree with 5 plus years relevant experience
- Solid background in communications at systems level
- Working knowledge of Ethernet and associated protocols
- Experience in software verification / debug at systems level
- Experience in writing software test plans, test scripts, and executing them on Linux and other platforms
- Experience with scripting languages (such as Perl) on Linux based platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of automated test methodologies and creating automated test cases
- Experience developing custom test tools would be an asset
- Experience with requirements and test management tools
- RF, wireless and satellite communications knowledge and / or experience
- Experience with PBX, Asterisk, SIP devices, would be an important asset
- Familiar with running lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers
- Knowledge of RTCA/DO-178B, RTCA/DO-254 and RTCA/DO-160 standards
- Familiarity with wireline and wireless technologies (ex GSM, UMTS, Wi-Max)
- C/C++ development experience would be a valuable asset
